Express Yourself: Vertigo’s Solution - "Bluejay"

July 2nd, 2007 by Will Tschumy

Vertigo’s solution was entirely different from any of the other contestants.  Rather than focusing on the exchange of media between friends, Vertigo focused on the ongoing conversation between friends.

“It’s like Tivo for the conversation” said Susan - the developer from the team.  Bluejay allows a group of friends send messages to a common, location agnostic messaging service.  Each member of a social group can send both a emotional state, as well as messages out to the list.  The focus on presence made the Vertigo solution to feel all the more engaging.

Of all the solutions, Vertigo’s was the most complete technically, including a mobile aspect.  As part of their work, they developed a WAP connection to their system.

Vertigo’s solution, focusing on presence and conversations made for a very interesting contrast versus the other contestants.
